استقبل مركز المراة للبحوث والتدريب بعد ظهر اليوم وفد الاتحاد الاوربي ممثلا بنائبة السفير الهولندي في اليمن وعدد من كوادر السفارة الهولندية في اليمن وذلك لاستطلاع اوضاع المركز ومناقشة اوجه الدعم والشراكة في المستقبل .
وقد آشارت نائبة السفير الهولندي الى ان هولندا ترى ان لامبادرات سلام ولابرامج تنموية بدون ادماج المراة وتمكينها كشريك حقيقي فاعل في المجتمع. واكدت دعمها للدور الاستثنائي الذي يقوم به المركز منذ اكثر من عشرين عام في تطوير برنامج الدراسات النسوية و نشر مفاهيم النوع الاجتماعي على كل المستويات وتنفيذ الدورات التدريبية والعمل على تعزيز اشراك المراة في تحقيق الامن وبناء السلام .
ومن ناحية اخرى آشادت د. هدى علي علوي مديرة المركز بقيمة هذه الزيارة واهميتها وثمنت الدور الذي لعبته هولندا في تقديم المساندة لقضايا المراة في بلادنا منذ وقت مبكر و استحداث مساق ماجستير النوع الاجتماعي والتنمية في جامعة عدن وتوفير كل الاحتياجات اللازمة لانجاح المشروع وبهذا الخصوص اشارت الى ان مخرجات الدراسات النسوية من الناحية النوعية والكمية اصبحت تحتل الصدارة في رفع مكانة النساء وتحسين اداءهم ومساهماتهم في تنمية وتطور المجتمع.
The Women's Research and Training Center received this afternoon a delegation of the European Union represented by the Deputy Dutch Ambassador in Yemen and a number of cadres of the Dutch Embassy in Yemen in order to explore the status of the center and discuss aspects of support and partnership in the future.
The Dutch Deputy Ambassador indicated that the Netherlands sees no peace initiatives or development programs without integrating women and empowering them as a real and effective partner in society. She affirmed her support for the exceptional role that the center has played for more than twenty years in developing the women's studies program, disseminating gender concepts at all levels, implementing training courses, and working to promote women's participation in achieving security and peacebuilding.
On the other hand, she praised Dr. Huda Ali Alawi, Director of the Center, valued this visit and its importance, and appreciated the role played by the Netherlands in providing support to women’s issues in our country from an early age and the introduction of a master’s course on Gender and Development at the University of Aden and providing all the needs necessary for the success of the project. In this regard, she indicated that the outputs of women’s studies in terms of Quality and quantity have come to the fore in raising the status of women, improving their performance and their contributions to the development and development of society.
